Happy heavenly birthday Anand, what would have been your 40th
Happy heavenly birthday Anand, what would have been your 40th.
The second birthday without you.
On the menu, your favourite, plain cheesecake.
I had decided I was going to follow through with our plans to celebrate this milestone birthday in the U.K. to watch a live Manchester United game. I even had the people at the funeral home put some of your ashes aside in a smaller container to bring with me to hopefully spread on the football (soccer) field.
A few of our friends were even planning on joining me on this trip.
The many times I would wake up in the middle of the night at 2-3 a.m. with your side of the bed empty and I would find you downstairs seated in front of the television watching a football game. Until you, other than the Soccer World Cup, I never bothered watching Football (as you often corrected me when I called it soccer).
I miss you watching those annoying and ridiculous videos poking fun at Arsenal fans. I even watched some Arsenal fans’ rants on youtube today and left them playing in the background LOL. This is what you’ve reduced me to!
As life often teaches us and has taught the whole world this year, things do not always go as planned. Covid may have postponed my plans but as soon as I get the opportunity to make the trip across the pond I will be sure to catch a live game and fulfill that dream of yours which had then become a part of “Our” bucket list. I love you. And as always I wish you were here.
